NOTE: While this ice maker can be used without a drain, Franklin recommends that a drain line be connected to the unit. If a floor drain is not near the machine, the use of a pump is recommended. Since the machine is not a freezer, ice will melt and water will have to be drained frequently if the unit is not connected to a drain. If this method of drainage is chosen, the machine should be turned off if it is to be left unattended for an extended period.
